Death of a beloved one...
It was way past midnight and Grumpy Bear was sound asleep. But something called out to him suddenly in the middle of the night. He did not know what it was and it is arousing him from his sleep. Unable to bear the unpleasant feeling, he intend to get up from his bed and get himself a drink. Before he can even do that, he finally found out what had been disturbing his sleep. Callista was lying beside him, motionless...
A mixture of sadness and devastation surged through Grumpy Bear. He shook her hard while keeping his gentle eyes on her face. She could not respond. Grumpy Bear at 1st though that is might be due to a litle bit weariness. So he waited for a while before shaking her hard again. She still did not not respond. As dawn slowly approached, Grumpy Bear stubbornly shook her even harder. It was all over when the sun is up in the sky and Grumpy Bear had given up. Callista had finally throw in the towel after a mere 2 and a half years. Grumpy Bear had no choice but to accept the departure of his companion. There was nothing he can do.
Callista had collasped due to to fatigue. It was no wonder that she finally gave way, considering that she's almost been awake for the full 2 and a half years since she had came to Grumpy Bear's habitat. She had been working for Grumpy Bear non-stop without complaining even once though there were times when she got sick quite a few times. Only at his command did Callsita dared to rest. You might think that Grumpy Bear must have treated her like a cow and there was no love shown towards her. But you are wrong.
There was once Callista fainted for a few days. Diagnosis showed there was something wrong with ber brain memory. Grumpy Bear soared the help of professionals to bring her back to life and even spent a hefty amount in doing so. "She's MY life," Grumpy Bear once mentioned emotionally, "MY everything". For Callista, only the best accessories went to her, there was no room for compromising. No room. Only the the best for her, Grumpy Bear's precious.
With a heavy heart, Grumpy Bear had to return to work. He was so sad that he tired to seek condolences by messaging his best friends, waking up one of them in the process. But once going back to the Serve Always Forest, it would mean that he had to wait for a week before he could see her again. There was no choice but to hand her over to his family to watch over, though they are slightly more trustworthy than handing a chicken to a fox to babysit. It was a week of agony for Grumpy Bear, wondering what had happened to Callista and what he can do to revive her. Thoughts ran all over the place in Grumpy Bear's mind but it was useless, he's still stuck in the Serve Always Forest. After enduring a week of torment, he finally was released from a week's of hard labour and went back to home to tend to his beloved.
One of his best friend, Wormie had always advised him to treat her better but the advises fell to death ears. Even though Grumpy Bear did not listen to Wormie, Wormie out of good will offer Grumpy Bear his condolences even though Grumpy Bear had woke him up when Callista died. Wormie comfort Grumpy Bear nonetheless 'cos he understand what it feels like to lose a loved one. Sligthly more than 3 months back, Wormie also lost his fat Hardy. Hardy was very close to Wormie but an accident occurs and it means the 2 of them have to live in 2 different worlds. Grumpy Bear did offer help to revive Hardy but his efforts were in vain.
Another of Grumpy Bear's buddies, Honeyhead also went through the same thing. Unfortunatley for him, an accident also happen to his much pampered Zeneon. She might be small, but she's always there for him whenever they embarked journeys or travelling around. And they only spent barely more than a year together. Though it was a short time, one can tell that they really have a place for one another.
Things would never the same for the 3 of them.
